The surrounding forests are home to rich biodiversity. Spot vibrant bird species like Malabar Grey Hornbill (endemic to the Western Ghats) Great Hornbill, Indian Paradise Flycatcher, White- cheeked Barbet, Malabar Parakeet, Asian Fairy-bluebird, Grey Jungle fowl, Woodpecker, Common Hawk-cuckoo, and Chestnut –headed Bee-eater. The endemic and rare species include Malabar trogon, Nilgiri Wood pigeon, White- bellied Treepie, Legge’s Hawk eagle and crimson-backed sunbird. Early mornings and late afternoons are ideal, especially between October and March, when migratory species also visit the region. With a bit of luck, even a few wild animals like elephant, wild buffalo, bear and deer can also be spotted.
